What is an EPC?
These certificates assess the estimated energy efficiency of a property, energy costs and carbon emissions. Ratings range for A (most efficient) to G (least efficient) and EPCs have to be carried out by a fully qualified Domestic Energy Assessor.
As well as detailing the current efficiency of a property, the document will also provide advice on potential savings. This helps future owners or tenants to see how they could save money and reduce emissions.
Arranging For An Assessment
At Fisher Wrathall we will arrange for an assessor to complete an EPC for you in Lancaster, Morecambe or another area. We charge only £60 for this, reducing your stress and giving you less to worry about.
An energy performance certificate is valid for 10 years. Additionally, as of April 1 2018 all properties let on a fixed term renewal or new tenancy are required to hold an EPC rating of E or higher.
